Our team of architects and engineers developed the plans for a 28-bed jail facility for Butler County. Relocating and replacing the existing outdated jail facility, the new structure is attached to a the Butler County Courthouse so that an adjacency could be established between the newly renovated Court Room and the Jail, thereby allowing a safe transfer of prisoners between these spaces without entering public spaces. The Jail is organized such that seven housing units and an indoor/outdoor exercise space sit around an open control station. This station lies within sightlines of the Booking desk, allowing for the efficient operation of the facility, especially during the evening hours. The 15,000 SF facility also includes a kitchen, a multi-purpose room, a medical examination room, and a Sheriff’s Office. Master Control sits outside the secure perimeter, with a window opening out into the Entrance Lobby.
